Our mission is to create markets that remove the obstacles to 24/7 renewable energy.
When you observe the current energy crisis, or talk to any energy expert, the sense of market failure becomes apparent. Think a little further and it becomes clear that we are going to need markets considerate of the time and place that renewable energy is generated and used, in order to solve problems such as curtailment or fuel poverty.
Our mission is to empower ordinary citizens and corporations alike, so that their renewable energy generation, storage and buying power is harnessed in an optimal way. Our mission includes bringing continuity in transmission and distribution that is less liable to conventional grid failures.

Dr. Jemma Green is dedicated to creating a viable market for renewable energy that empowers consumers. This mission began with her PhD in electricity market disruption - the seed of the idea for Powerledger - and her championing of sustainability and corporate social responsibility while working in finance for banks like JP Morgan. In 2018 Dr. Green won Sir Richard Branson’s Extreme Tech Challenge award followed by the EY Fintech Entrepreneur of the Year award. Dr. Jemma Green co-authored a best-selling book with Chris Voss - 'Empathy and Understanding in Business'.
John Bulich
Technical Director & Co-founder
John is a pioneer of blockchain technology in Australia and leads the development of the Powerledger platform. After co-founding Ledger Assets, he became renowned as a technology entrepreneur specialising in the design and implementation of blockchain. John provides the strategic direction for conceptual, system and application design and development for Powerledger. His vast experience in software and blockchain development gives Powerledger its technical edge.
Xavi Ruiz Arozarena
Head of Operations
Xavi leads the operations team at Powerledger, ensuring our client's expectations are met and exceeded. He holds a Masters of Engineering from The Polytechnic University of Catalonia (BarcelonaTech). With extensive experience in project management, Xavi brings a high level of experience in team management, financial planning and operational efficiency to Powerledger. He enjoys the outdoors and spending time at the beach.
Jakob Linus Stammler
Head of Blockchain Operations
Jakob is the Head of Blockchain Operations at Powerledger, overseeing key initiatives driving the energy transition through cutting-edge blockchain technology. He actively contributes to global digitalisation efforts as a member of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Task Force on Digitalisation in Energy. With a solid foundation in business administration with a focus on entrepreneurship and finance, he mentors startups through the Startup Academy Switzerland.
Dr. Bill Tai
Global Ambassador & Shareholder
Bill Tai is a respected venture capitalist, educator, and athlete who has funded companies since 1991. He invested in successful firms such as Twitter, Zoom, and Powerledger, and founded Treasure Data and IPInfusion. Bill worked at LSI Logic, TSMC, and Alex.Brown & Sons, and has degrees from the University of Illinois, Harvard Business School, and Curtin University, where he is an Adjunct Professor. He leads ACTAI Global, uniting Athletes, Conservationists, Technologists, Artists & Innovators for conservation and economic empowerment via entrepreneurship.
